OUTing the Past: LGBT History
OUTing the Past is a growing international festival of LGBT history run by Schools OUT UK and our passionate unpaid volunteers. This year we had over 100 offers of presentations and 17 hubs in the UK, the island of Ireland, Norway, Sweden and New York.
In 2020, we will be as big but it is up to people to offer presentations and museums, archives and libraries to volunteer to be a hub location.
With several states in the USA are making LGBT history compulsory in schools and we are working to make Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) work in our schools, while under attack by a small but noisy minority, our work is still vital.
We will be writing to all the presenters and venues that hosted OTP over the last two years in the coming weeks to see who wants to take part next year.
If you would like to offer us a short presentation, of a piece of LGBT history then do look at the presenters invite we would love to hear from you, we all need to hear our stories!
All you need to know about the timing of the festival and how to apply as a venue or a presenter can be found here www.outingthepast.org.uk. We look forward to hearing from you and if you are interested in helping us administer and/or promote the festival, contact us.
