Government Consultation on Improving the Gender Recognition Act

GIRES encourages its members and allies to add their voices in support of of an improved gender recognition process.

October 19 is the closing date for the government consultation on improving the Gender Recognition Act. Very few gender diverse people have used the Act to obtain a new birth certificate because the process is cumbersome, demeaning and expensive. Also, it is not suited to the needs of non-binary people

Please respond to the full consultation questionnaire, Reform of the Gender Recognition Act, directly through gov.uk website.

If you find yourself running out of time to do that, please use the shortened version of the questionnaire that has been developed by Stonewall: Come Out for Trans Equality.
