GIRES at Trans Pride Brighton 2016 (23/07/16)

In it’s 4th year Trans Pride Brighton 2016 was even bigger then before with the main event happening in Brunswick Square in Hove on Saturday 23rd July.

GIRES is proud to have been able to again take part and have a stall at the event which saw over 4500 people attend during the day after a march along the seafront by over 1800 trans people, family, friends and allies and also included the Mayor of Brighton, Councillor Pete West.

The roar of the crowd in the park as the march arrived along with so many smiling faces in the stalls showed the emotion, the massive feeling of being proud and the immense safe community feeling that this space gave to so many trans and non-binary people.

The stall was busy throughout the day and it was wonderful to say hi to so many familiar faces and to meet many more new ones. Many of the various leaflets GIRES produce were eagerly taken away.

GIRES is already looking forward to next years event which we are sure will be just as brilliant as this years.
A huge thank you to the trans pride committee and all of their wonderful volunteers and the terrific hard work they did throughout the day and their help with organising a pitch for us, and a huge thank you to everyone we met.
We will see you again next year!
