Safe Space Merseyside is a Trans+ led organisation, which aims to support transgender and non-binary people across the Merseyside area by running social events and providing a directory of businesses and organisations who have pledged that they are a safe space for Trans+ people.
We also operate a chest binder exchange - please do reach out if you can't afford but are in need of a binder, or if can donate one.
We run events where we’ve identified a lack of provision for the community. Our socials are mid-week, evenings and in a listed safe space which is intentionally not a cafe or bar. We have the use of a private room, the venue is accessible and a gender-neutral toilet is available.
We aim for a friendly, clique-free atmosphere. There is no pressure to talk and we often have optional craft activities.
Our socials are free and have no obligation to buy food or drinks - we provide free tea and coffee. You only need to bring your wonderful self.
We run an inclusive social, open to everyone under the trans+ umbrella, 6:30pm-9pm on the third Tuesday of each month.
We also run a social specifically to cater to non-binary identities, 7pm-9pm on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
