Outcome

outcome

Outcome is Islington Mind’s LGBTQI+ specialist service, run by LGBTQI people with LGBTQI people.

Our main aim is to provide a sanctuary for LGBTQI+ people – somewhere safe to socialise free from discrimination or feeling like the “odd one out”, receive therapies to improve mental health, and enjoy learning new skills in a supportive atmosphere.

Outcome supports LGBTQI+ people with their mental health, including LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and with granted status. We are part of Islington Mind but we are also pan-London and can take referrals from anywhere in London. All staff and volunteers at Outcome are LGBTQI+ and many of us have lived experience with mental health and/or contact with mental health systems.

We utilise a non-medical and structurally aware approach to mental health and offer an informal therapeutic drop-in space for people, alongside peer support groups, short-term 1-1 support, and various holistic activities like drama, art, creative spaces, yoga, and trans-inclusive gender groups. At present we have a small travel fund and are able to reimburse people with an active asylum claim £5 for their travel to us with a valid receipt.

We meet every Tuesday between 11:00am and 4:00pm, both in-person and online.

We are delighted to share the news that Outcome has secured funding to deliver a new project called Rainbow Suicide Prevention London (RSPL)!

RSPL can offer free psychotherapy to:

LGBTQI+ asylum seekers and refugees, all trans people and non-binary people and young LGBTQI+ people aged 18-25.

The sessions can take place online and/or face-to-face, and will likely be with a trainee.
