York LGBT Forum

We are a registered charity (Charity Number 1162234) operating in York and North Yorkshire. The Forum actively promotes awareness and understanding of LGBT people’s needs to enable full participation in society and works with many others to reduce the fear of crime and bullying, particularly in schools, the workplace and in later life. It also encourages greater participation in the prevention and detection of homophobic, transphobic and biphobic discrimination. We aim to improve people’s wellbeing and sense of community. Our group facilitators are DBS checked if the group is applicable for DBS checks. We currently have 30 volunteers and 3 part-time paid freelancers. We have a dedicated Trans Subgroup and host events and groups relating to trans issues. All of our activities are trans, non-binary and intersex inclusive.
