Opening Doors London (ODL) is the biggest charity providing activities, events, information and support services specifically for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Non-Binary + (LGBTQ+) people over 50 in the UK. ODL is a (free) membership organisation offering events, social opportunities and activities and help people to develop networks and communities. Services include befriending, dementia and carers’ support, BAME/PoC, trans and non-binary groups. They also offer specialist training and consultancy for statutory and voluntary organisations, to help them understand the needs of older LGBTQ+ people. ODL is committed to the achievement of full human rights and social justice for all LGBTQ+ people. ODL has 16 employees and 290 volunteers. DBS checks are run for new volunteers and employees.
