Who We Are

The Sheena Amos Youth Trust (SAYiT) is a registered independent charity (no. 1076951) which has been running in Sheffield since 1999. We are a sexual health charity working with young people up to the age of 25, particularly those who are most vulnerable or marginalised.

What We Do

We provide support and social opportunities for young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) or who are affected by HIV. We also run a peer education volunteering programme which is open to all young people. Our peer education volunteers run training and awareness sessions challenging prejudice and stigma around LGBT issues, which is available to all organisations working with young people in Sheffield.

In Sheffield we operate the LGBT Youth Service which is made up of a number of groups and interventions:

For LGBT young people under the age of 18 we run a twice a week social and support group offering activities and opportunities to help to support young people’s identity and peer support networks

Off the Scene

For LGBT young people aged 18 and up to 25 years we offer a safe and supportive group where young people can learn, grow and support each other.

For Trans* young people we run a supportive once every two weeks.
