Background

Mermaids is a support group originally formed in 1995 by a group of parents who were brought together as a result of their children's longstanding Gender Identity Issues. Mermaids has a committee made up of parents and trans people and provides training for organisations and support for parents and trans people via a helpline and a mailing list.
