Background
The Gendys Network hopes to help transsexuals and intersexed people to see themselves not as victims, but as survivors of their gender identity difficulties. To this end, the network produces a quarterly journal.
The aim is to provide confidential help and information, including a contact system, including sources of professional counselling. It also aims to provide support for those who are emotionally close, families, lovers and friends.
The network is to develop a forum for debate and a dialogue between the client group and carers, so that understanding and standards can be improved. It will endeavour to provide information, provoke discussion, thought and understanding, and to help give a fair impression of some of the difficulties often encountered and how they may be dealt with.
