Not A Phase is a registered charity, founded by Danielle St James in 2020, in response to the huge challenges trans+ people currently face in the UK.
Discovering that there wasn’t a charity which focused solely on the support of Trans+ and Gender Diverse adults, Not A Phase was born.
Not A Phase is a trans-led, grassroots charity committed to uplifting and improving the lives of trans+ adults, through awareness campaigning, social projects and funding Trans+ lead initiatives. The charity aims to give the Trans+ and Gender non-conforming community space to thrive, whilst working with organisations on D&I strategies to promote positive change.
One of the activities we run are our friendly socials.
The Essex Trans+ Social is changing venue. From June 15th onwards, it will be held at Patch Chelmsford on Springfield Road. It will still be from 13:00 to 15:00 on the third Sunday of every month.
Our famous Not A Phase ‘Socials’ were born out the need to combat the isolation and loneliness so often felt within the trans+ community.
The socials aim to provide a way of connecting the community in a safe space.”
