GIRES AWARDS 2007
One of GIRES' main current aims is to improve the medical care offered to transsexual adolescents, particularly in the UK, where treatment is more restrictive than is allowed in the WPATH Standards of Care. Four enlightened and highly informative articles on this topic have been written by some of the medical professionals with whom GIRES has been working to improve practice. TRAVEL BURSARY 2007
For many years, Professor Stephen Whittle has ably championed the trans community. He has been elected as President of WPATH. In recognition of his excellent work and to mark his presidency, GIRES awarded him a bursary to cover his cost of attending the WPATH symposium.
