Transphobic Bullying Toolkit
The Home Office commissioned GIRES to prepare a toolkit for schools to use in combating transphobic bullying. The material has undergone extensive testing by people involved in education, government agencies, the unions, the police and organisations working in the transgender field. Parliamentary Question about Transphobic Bullying in Schools
On 1 March 2007, Dr Lynne Jones MP, Chair of the Parliamentary Forum on Transsexualism, asked the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what steps he is taking to combat bullying of transgendered children in schools.
In a reply dated 7 March 2007, Mr Jim Knight MP said “my officials are meeting transsexual representative groups to discuss their concerns, and we will consider how best to proceed in the light of these discussions”.
