Annual General Meeting — October 12th, 2008.
Over 60 members and guests attended the charity's annual meeting on 12 October 2008. Â The guests included representatives of The Gender Trust, The Beaumont Trust, Gendys, Press for Change and FTM London. The charity reported on the year's work, which included the development of a series of booklets for the Department of Health and creation for the Home Office of a web-based toolkit to be used by schools in combating transphobic bullying. The society continues to pursue improvements in the medical care that the NHS provides to gender variant adolescents and adults. It is frequently assists government agencies and other organisations that are developing policies and training their staff to support gender variant people. The financial position remains strong and the charity's Independent Examiner commended the charity on its remarkable achievement.
has been appointed as the Charity's Systems Engineering Advisor.
Donald Yule was re-elected as the charity's Independent Examiner.
After the formal meeting, Stephenne Rhodes demonstrated the new transphobic bullying toolkit and the charity arranged separate workshops on:
- Supporting the families of transgender people
- Surgery for trans men
- Hormone medication
- Speech therapy
The meeting ended with a light supper.
